Information for Authors


PAPERS ACCEPTED FOR PUBLISHING IN "EASTERN EUROPEAN STUDIES" SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS, AS WELL AS BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE EDITORIAL PRINCIPLES OF THE JOURNAL.


INITIAL CRITERIA:

 

  • compliance of the topic taken with the journal’s profile
  • substantive value. Each article should contain: short methodological part (subject, work limiters, research goal, research question, main hypothesis, research methods used) - 1.5-2 pages
  • stylistic and linguistic correctness
  • compliance with formal criteria and compliance with editorial requirements
  • completing and sending the signed statement (a scan of the statement) in which the author grants a license to use the copyright and publication of the text in the electronic version of the magazine, as well as sending ghostwriting and guest authorship declarations.
  • Sending the above materials is possible only after registration. In the registration panel (here) select "Author” as the "Account type". After logging in (from the top or left menu), select "Add manuscript" and complete the online form (please attach a scan of the license statement). In order to send an article to the journal's editor, please click the "Add manuscript" button at the bottom of the page.


Editorial principles


FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:


1. The journal publishes texts ranging from 0.5 to 1 publishing sheet (approximately 20,000-40,000 characters with spaces and bibliography).


2. Electronic files with articles should be sent via the online form in the MS WORD text editor in doc / docx format.


3. Illustrations and graphic elements used in the papers should be sent to the editor in separate files, in JPG format - via the online form, in the "Attachments" item.


4. Author's degree or academic title, short biographical note (up to 70 words, in the MS WORD text editor in doc / docx format) should be attached in the on-line form under "Attachments".


5. When completing the online form, please provide the following information:

  • title of the article in English;
  • summary of the article (up to 150 words) in English. The summary should not be an introduction to the article, but it should contain information on: the research problem, research methods used, research findings or conclusions;
  • keywords (up to 7) in English;
  • title in Polish;
  • summary in Polish (as above);
  • keywords in Polish (as above):


6. The text of the article should be formatted as follows:


  • in the article file, please do not include the author's name and surname - both in the text and in the file name;;
  • title (Times New Roman font, 14 points, bold, centered);
  • subheadings: up to two levels of subheadings: first level subtitle - Times New Roman 12 pt, bold, centered; second level subheading - Times New Roman 12 point font, bold, left aligned;
  • article’s text and bibliography: Times New Roman 12 point font, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 margins.
  • bibliography at the end of the article.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


1. The article sent to the Editorial Board is treated by the Editorial Board and the Publisher as an original work for which the Author has full rights. If the author has already published a paper before sending it to Eastern European Studies, he/she is obliged to provide an appropriate footnote, including information about the place and time of the original publication.


2. All papers positively evaluated by the Editors are subject to editorial review on the terms of scientific journals. A detailed description of the procedure for reviewing texts is available in the tab Rules for reviewing articles.


3. The editors provide the Author with information about the acceptance or rejection of the paper within 6 months of its reception.


4. The editors reserve the right to make corrections and abbreviations. After editing, the text is sent to the e-mail address provided by the author for approval. Failure to reply within the time limit indicated by the Editors will be treated as acceptance of editorial changes.


5. If not previously appointed, the editors do not return submitted texts which have been rejected.


A PAPER SUBMITTED TO THE EDITORIAL BOARD IS THE FINAL VERSION OF THE ARTICLE.
